Going Vogue. Living Vogue. Being Vogue.

As a 16 year old living outside of Washington, D.C., I am eager to express myself in a world of emerging fashion and conservative style. “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent

Chanel Couture Fall 2012

Karl Lagerfeld thew a gardern party for Chanel’s Fall 2012 Couture show. It took place in Paris’s Grand Palais and was complete with plates of macarons, a ceiling painted to resemble the sky, bushes of camellia flowers, and rows of wicker chairs. The theme of the show was, “new vintage.” It paid homage to Chanel’s design history–Lagerfeld freshened up Coco Chanel’s classic tweed jackets by adding tulle to their hems and wrists. Other versions of the jacket were clinched at the waist with belts, while paired with flowing skirts and printed pants. The collection’s dresses were equally as stunning. Some used tulle to accentuate the shoulders, while other combined layers of pink ribbon and tulle to create horizontal stripes.

The Best of Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger has always been a style icon of mine. She always seems to dazzle with me with her perfectly put together looks and ensembles. With a style that favors vintage-inspired dresses and a tendency to choose a monochrome or blush-coloured palettes for her red carpet appearances, Kruger has become a quick favorite of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel.

The Making of a Chanel Jacket

I came across this a few weeks ago, and finally decided to share it! It is a mesmerizing video that I found myself replaying over and over. From Jackie Kennedy to Blake Lively, Chanel is a staple for celebrities and royality alike —  this video shows why the fashion house’s coveted goods are so pricey. Click on the link to see the intricacy that goes into making each one of Chanel’s creations!

Chanel Pre-Fall 2012

Chanel is always debuting their latest collections in the most creative ways. Whether the models are strutting out of a Chanel airplane or popping out of a giant oyster shell, one thing is for sure – the Paris based brand always seems to top itself. Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012  runway show guests were seated at an elaborate banquet set up in the Grand Palais in Paris. They were served champagne, guava juice, tea, and miniature cakes and sandwiches. An antique silver train with the double-C Chanel logo across the central banquet table. The Paris-Bombay-themed collection, inspired by the jewels, colors, and fabrics of India, was accented by nose rings and twisted dreadlock updos. I am in love with this collection – my favorite is the way the fashion house decided to utilize and incorporate metallic golds and silvers.

The Campaign Trail

THEY’RE HERE! Here are the latest Spring 2012 ad campaigns.

Chanel Spring 2012 RTW

I had to create a post about Chanel’s Spring 2012 line, simply because I could not get enough of it! Each piece is etherial and light, while remaining true to Chanel with pearls and tweed – truly fabulous! Although I adore all of these looks, my favorite is definitely the  cream dress with the exaggerated skirt and shoulders, topped of with a pearl belt! Chanel definitely did a tremendous job combining timeless chic with modern femininity. What do you think of Chanel’s most recent RTW collection?
