Going Vogue. Living Vogue. Being Vogue.

As a 16 year old living outside of Washington, D.C., I am eager to express myself in a world of emerging fashion and conservative style. “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent

Chanel Spring 2012 RTW

I had to create a post about Chanel’s Spring 2012 line, simply because I could not get enough of it! Each piece is etherial and light, while remaining true to Chanel with pearls and tweed – truly fabulous! Although I adore all of these looks, my favorite is definitely the  cream dress with the exaggerated skirt and shoulders, topped of with a pearl belt! Chanel definitely did a tremendous job combining timeless chic with modern femininity. What do you think of Chanel’s most recent RTW collection?

Temperley London

It’s no secret that I am a huge Temperley London fan, so I am absolutely dying over this collection! I love everything about it. Of course, everything is light and airy, a big trend we have been seeing in the Spring/Summer 2012 collections. It’s all to die for – from my personal favorite, the pearly white half-gown in the upper left hand corner, to the deep navy, airy mini dress. I am dying for absolutely everything in this collection. I love the goddess feel of the sky blue dress and the one-shouldered white gown, to the etherial nature of the  embellished white and purple gowns and the loose-fitting, yet flattering off white gown in the lower right corner. No doubt one of my favorite collections of the season!

Designer Spotlight

Catherine Deane is known for her detailed evening and bridal wear, as well as her custom creations. Her gowns are delicate with details such as layers of chiffon, pin-tucked ruffles, and dainty gold chains. Her brand is aimed at a vast age group, anyone from 18-45. Brides are one of the brands major custom groups, which is why Catherine makes all gowns available in oyster white. A highly worked Catherine Deane creation will run for about $4,000. Catherine Deane is a favorite of mine, as I have always admired her work. I love how all of her pieces have a balance of fluidity as well as rigidity. The draping of each dress is absolutely divine and hangs perfectly off the model, while the ruching and chain detail highlight the feminine features.

New York Fashion Week: The Victoria Beckham Presentation

On the morning of September 11, at the New York Public Library, Victoria Beckham unveiled her latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection. There were two silences at her show in memory of the victims of the fateful day. Beckham deviated from her usual style – sleek, body hugging dresses. Instead, she used baseball style caps and drop waist dresses, which gave her latest collection a more athletic vibe. Saving the brighter colors for her upcoming line ,Victoria by Victoria Beckham, she used a color palette of black, navy and orange. The dresses showed off incredible crafstmanship as they were posh, without being over the top, and of course, donned her signature zipper detail. Her finale consisted of two show-stopping floor length dresses. I am absolutely in love as I die for everything in this collection. I can not wait to see what her RTW looks like for this upcoming season! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Victoria by Victoria Beckham, which the designer herself wore as she sat front row at her show.

Fashion Week 2011: Tadashi Shoji

Bryant Park is covered with a canopy of tents and many celebrities have flocked to NYC – it’s officially Fashion Week. Only one day has passed, and I’m already looking forward to the upcoming spring. Tadashi Shoji put on a fantastic show and I have found a new favorite designer. I am in love with absolutely everything that Tadashi Shoji sent down the runway Thursday afternoon. I love the light, airy fabrics and the metallic tones of silver, gold, and bronze. The draping is incredible and creates an effortless summer-chic look! I love everything about these looks from the hair and make up to the glamorous garments. If this is any indication of the spring 2012 trends – im ready to fast forward to May!

Fall 2011 Favorites: YSL

I am officially in love with all things YSL. I can not get over how much I love the Tribitoo Platform Pumps, especially in the copper! The fall collection is spot on, as the brand has put a seasonal spin on color. The purple clutch is to die for as are the blue suede pumps and the olive green hobo bag. Their jewlery is incredible, and their dresses – one of a kind! I die for absolutely everything YSL. Yves Saint Laurent has gotten me in the fall mood despite the woes of cold weather and long school days!

Marchesa Resort 2012: Favorites

I am absolutely in love with Marchesa’s new Resort 2012 Collection. The brand decided to take a break from feathers, trains, and tulle, and decided to stick to less elaborate, yet equally as stunning, detailed designs. Marchesa went with much simpler silhouettes to create more airy, delicate looks. After seeing Marchesa change it up, I can not wait for their upcoming collections to see if they continue with these more glamorous, than Gaga-esque looks.
