Going Vogue. Living Vogue. Being Vogue.

As a 16 year old living outside of Washington, D.C., I am eager to express myself in a world of emerging fashion and conservative style. “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent

Chanel Pre-Fall 2012

Chanel is always debuting their latest collections in the most creative ways. Whether the models are strutting out of a Chanel airplane or popping out of a giant oyster shell, one thing is for sure – the Paris based brand always seems to top itself. Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2012  runway show guests were seated at an elaborate banquet set up in the Grand Palais in Paris. They were served champagne, guava juice, tea, and miniature cakes and sandwiches. An antique silver train with the double-C Chanel logo across the central banquet table. The Paris-Bombay-themed collection, inspired by the jewels, colors, and fabrics of India, was accented by nose rings and twisted dreadlock updos. I am in love with this collection – my favorite is the way the fashion house decided to utilize and incorporate metallic golds and silvers.

Balenciaga: Postmodern Pre-Fall

I’m in awe of Balenciaga’s most recent collection! From the shimmery metallics to the vibrant hues, I can’t stop staring at the 80’s inspired collection. The loud prints and bold silhouettes scream 80’s postmodernism. The collection  utilizes jumbo zebra patterns, oversized pullovers, shoulder pads, peplums. These all come in eye-popping hues and  are styled with chunky earrings, and New Wave hair, and dark shades. High-tech fabrics, sharp tailoring, and muted colors were added to keep the looks fresh and current and prevent outdated styling!

Herve Leger – Pre Fall 2012

Max Azria took a break from his usual warrior princess themed looks and took a softer approach in his latest collection. There are still gladiator shoes and bandage dresses, but we see more jeweled tones and ombres as the dresses remain as body con as ever. We see some surprises in the flippy skirts and smooth sleek jackets–absolutely to die for!
