Going Vogue. Living Vogue. Being Vogue.

As a 16 year old living outside of Washington, D.C., I am eager to express myself in a world of emerging fashion and conservative style. “Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” – Yves Saint Laurent

Trend Report: Fall 2012

SAVE: Tory Burch Clutch.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Crossbody.  Ted Baker Quilted ToteKate Spade Wallet.

There is no doubt about it, burgundy is the new black this Fall. From evening clutches to daytime carryalls, it’s the new color crush. For those used to navy and black, burgundy is a good color to try. It looks great on most complexions and blends seamlessly into any wardrobe.

It’s That Time of Year

It’s that time of year! The September issues have been released and they are about to hit newstands across the world. Take a look at some of the best covers of the year!

Also gracing the covers are Selena Gomez (Teen Vogue), Jennifer Lopez (In Style), Penelope Cruz (W), Jessica Chastain (Vanity Fair), and Lucy Hale (Cosmopolitan).

Cheap Chic

This dress made by the British company Rare Fashion looks eerily similar to this gorgeous Victoria Beckham number. The dresses are almost identical, except for the lower hemline on Beckham’s straight off the runway creation. I have to say, I am in love with both of these dresses, and for $65 — it’s a steal!

J.Mendel Fall 2012

I have to confess…very few thing make me more excited than a new J.Mendel collection! All of these ensembles scream J.Mendel. From the drapped jersey fabric to leather trims, to sporadic hints of fur. I can’t get over it — I love the fur stoles on top of the glamorous gowns — but, my favorite part of the collection are the long scrunched leather gloves  — glamorous and paired down at the same time! Another favorite of mine is their use of the white skinny! I just got a pair of off-white Victoria Beckham skinny jeans, and I’ve been pairing them with brown riding boots and darker tops (who said you can’t wear white after Labor Day?). I’m loving it all, J.Mendel definitely didn’t disappoint this season! What are your thoughts?

Best of 2011

New York Fashion Week: The Victoria Beckham Presentation

On the morning of September 11, at the New York Public Library, Victoria Beckham unveiled her latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection. There were two silences at her show in memory of the victims of the fateful day. Beckham deviated from her usual style – sleek, body hugging dresses. Instead, she used baseball style caps and drop waist dresses, which gave her latest collection a more athletic vibe. Saving the brighter colors for her upcoming line ,Victoria by Victoria Beckham, she used a color palette of black, navy and orange. The dresses showed off incredible crafstmanship as they were posh, without being over the top, and of course, donned her signature zipper detail. Her finale consisted of two show-stopping floor length dresses. I am absolutely in love as I die for everything in this collection. I can not wait to see what her RTW looks like for this upcoming season! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Victoria by Victoria Beckham, which the designer herself wore as she sat front row at her show.

Something To Look Forward To

It’s no secret that Victoria Beckham is my fashion idol, so I was ecstatic to hear that she is coming out with a younger, more affordable line. Inspired by the teenage cartoon, Emily the Stranger, Victoria by Victoria Beckham will be a line of ultra-feminine dresses, which will focus on a loose shiloutte to look glamorous and chic on women of all sizes. Ranging from $500-$800, the dresses are significantly less expensive than Beckham’s main line. I am literally counting down the days to Spring 2012 when the line will launch – I can’t wait to get my hands on one (or more) of these dresses. Absolutely fabulous!

“These are the kind of dresses I’ve been searching for. The perfect little summer dress, something that was fun, something that was girly, something that was easy to wear, something that would take you from day through the night.”

“I’m opening these designs to women and girls of all different shapes and sizes, people who maybe want something less tight and clingy and structured. It also makes it more comfortable for during the day. You can wear them with a pair of flats or a pair of heels and they look great.”

All Time Favorites: Victoria Beckham Collection

Victoria Beckham is by far my favorite designer. I admire her style and ever present knowledge of fashion. These are my all time favorite pieces from all of her collections. I love the perfect fit of her timeless clothes. Her attention to detail and abilty to keep up with trends while creating classic, iconic dresses is what makes her my favorite designer.

Wish List: Hermes Birkin

Since I can remember, I have lusted after the Hermes Birkin Bag. It is classic, iconic, and regal. It has been carried by celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Eva Longoria to Royals such as Princess Grace. Its legacy will continue to grow as the bag will forever be in style.
